Meet the Author: Lilly Skurnik OAM

Lilly Skurnik OAM is the daughter of Polish Jewish immigrants who grew upin Newtown in the 1930/40s. At the age of 14, Lilly was tragically became blind when doctors discovered a tumor on her brain. Although the operation to remove it was successful, Lilly woke up blind.
Lilly’s memoires are testament to the rich fulfilling and productive life she’s lived. Her joiede vivre shines through in her book The Colours of Life, as she shares her memoires
with us for this special event at Waverley Library.
