The Beast is the premier monthly magazine for the beaches and bays of Sydney’s east. It was first published in February 2005 with the aim to promote local news, sport and events in a colourful format while embracing the laid-back Australian coastal lifestyle and providing local business with an affordable advertising medium.

The Beast has grown from 10,000 copies of a 40-page mag to a whopping 61,120 copy, 100-page behemoth – the largest distribution of any publication in the area. Approximately 54,000 copies are letterbox dropped throughout North Bondi, Bondi, Bondi Junction, Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay, Double Bay, Point Piper, Tamarama, Queens Park, Bronte, Waverley, Clovelly, Coogee, Randwick and Maroubra, and a further 7,000 copies are distributed through a network of over 500 high traffic local businesses. Its trademark A5 format is ideal for reading on the beach, the toilet or the train and it fits snugly into a mailbox, meaning it’s never too wet to read.

The Beast takes a light-hearted look at everything ‘Ocker’ and strives to maintain a positive vibe with smiling faces and funny articles a major feature in the mag.

The Beast has now been in circulation for over four years, we’ve produced in excess of 50 magazines and we’re still going strong. We’ve seen various competitors come and go but we’ve been the only publication to survive.
