Lapping Up New Bubblers

By Duncan Horscroft on September 13, 2012 in News

There’s nothing more relaxing than strolling along the coastal walk with your hound as the Pacific Ocean laps below you.

But at times it can be thirsty work, and although there have been water stations placed strategically along the way, these facilities have been aimed more at the two-legged walker and have not catered for the thirst of man’s best friend.

At Waverley’s drinking stations it’s been a case of filling up the dog-poo bag with precious H20 in an effort to ease your dog’s parched tongue.

But now life is a lot easier thanks to nine new innovative water bubblers installed by Randwick Council along the walk between Clovelly and Maroubra beaches.

These water fountains, which are also wheelchair friendly, have been designed so any water run off from the bubbler travels down a concave in the metal stem and ends up in a dedicated dog bowl hanging at the bottom of the unit.

Truly a fantastic idea and full marks to Randwick Council for considering dog owners.
