February Thumbs

By Dan Hutton on February 19, 2015 in Other

Up – Ten Years – That’s how long The Beast has been going for. We have absolutely no idea when it is going to come to an end.

Down – Lost Youth – When we started The Beast we were young and naïve. Now we’re kind of middle-aged and naïve. Sigh.

Up – Love – The world needs more of it, and, marketing gimmicks aside, February 14 is the perfect day to put it all out there.

Down – Hashtag Overload – Whenever something bad happens these days it’s as though there is a race to come up with the best hashtag.

Up – Virat Kohli – While we love the Aussie cricket team, it was great to see this young Indian batsman talking the talk and walking the walk.

Down – Homegrown Terrorism – The Beast has no time for thugs using religion as an excuse for murder. If that offends you, our office door is always open.

Up – World Cup Cricket – The ICC Cricket World Cup starts on February 13 in Australia and New Zealand. Visit www.cricketworldcup.com for info.

Down – Mosquitoes – We’re not sure if it’s because of all that early December rain, but there seems to be millions more mozzies this year.

Up – Monty’s Hot Sandwiches – The best sandwich shop in Bondi Junction is now pumping our hot sangas at Bondi Beach. Hoorah!

Down – The Shortest Month – It’s bloody frustrating that the best season of the year by far always ends with the shortest month.
