September Thumbs

By Daniel Hutton on September 16, 2014 in Other

Up – Changing Seasons – It hasn’t exactly been a bad winter, but we’re still pretty stoked it’s over and spring is here.

Down – Tennis Court Closure – The Wellington Street tennis courts in Bondi look set to be developed. Disappointing.

Up – The Local Birds – The Chooks and the Swans are both looking the goods for a serious crack at their respective premierships.

Down – Garbage Truck Alarm Clock – There’s nothing worse than being rudely awoken by a noisy, stinkin’ garbo truck.

Up – Spring Festivals – Taste of Coogee Festival, Randwick Eco Living Fair and the Festival of the Winds are all happening this month.

Down – War – When people disagree about something and kill each other it’s murder. When countries do the same it’s just another war.

Up – Sister Kathleen Conlan – Congrats to Sister Kath on 70 years of selfless service to the local community. Absolute legend.

Down – Social Politics – Facebook is a medium for sharing photos and posting funny videos, not for spouting political bullshit.

Up – Fatherhood – Father’s Day falls on September 7 this year. Dads work very hard, often without thanks, so be sure to show your appreciation.

Down – The Commonwealth Games – What an anti-spectacle. We really did try to get into the Comm Games, but it was decidedly dull.
