Video of the Week – The Best Bondi NYE Vid Going Around

By Dan Hutton on January 29, 2012 in Video

Bondi Beach NYE 2011/12 SHORETHING music festival from Marcus O'Brien on Vimeo.

I know i posted a video of the NYE Shorething festival on Bondi Beach just a few weeks ago but this one is a shit load better and gives a great little look into the the bump in and bump out as well as the night itself.

Shot over a few days by local video merchant Marcus O’Brien (yep, the bloke behind the incredible popular 2011 vids Pure Bronte and Hometown Tama), “the aim of this short film was capturing the positive integration of the event into the local Bondi environment showing stage build, event night and expeditious bump out of all equipment post event through time lapse & behind-the-scenes motion video”.

This year Snoop Dog, Calvin Harris and Pendulum played to a sell out crowd of 15,000 people celebrating the new year on Australia’s most famous beach.

When you’ve finished watching this one, jump on to Marcus’ Vimeo profile and check out some of his other amazing clips. The bloke is an absolute freak!

  1. Just checked out The Beast…its a great site. Awesome video of the week. I think this must be Marcus O’Brien who is a cameraman and worked out of New York a few years ago. He’s an amazing videographer and captures the essence of Sydney. Let us know when he does any more work.
