Sharmin has lived in Bondi for nearly a decade, since moving back from London. She is a personal stylist and has worked with a wide range of clients from time-poor executives to mums with post-baby bodies looking for some style injection. She’s taking her business to the next level with the launch of her website www.personalstylist.net.au. Sharmin shares her local favourites with The Beast…

Favourite Beach: I can’t go past Bondi. It’s so easy to lose a whole day there.

Eatery : North Bondi Italian. They make some of the best traditional Italian dishes in Sydney. The simple but delicious chicken soup is a standout and that’s saying something considering I’m married into an Italian family that can cook!

Watering Hole: Upstairs bar at The Corner House. Great vibe and good cocktails.

Sporting Team: The Sydney Swans.

Music: I’m into everything from The XX, Datarock and Foals to Ben Harper and Magic Numbers.

Person: My yoga teacher Deb, who inspires me to welcome everything that comes my way – joy, depression, meanness – because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Weekend Activity: If I’m not shopping with a client or at their home then I’m probably at the beach or enjoying a coffee while reading the paper after a yoga class.

Quote: Designer Vivienne Westwood sums it up – “Buy less, choose well, mix it all.”

Favourite Thing About Your Work: I love that I can give people confidence in their appearance. Once a client understands how to pick classic or on-trend pieces rather than something they may perceive as ‘safe’ and once they know why those pieces flatter their body shape I can honestly see a change in their self-confidence.
