Local Favourite – Nicky

By Dan Hutton on June 13, 2011 in People

Nicky Treacy owns and operates Witcherb on Clovelly Road, near the trade entrance at Bunnings. She was born in Sydney and has spent the last four years living in lovely Coogee. Nicky is a medical herbalist and treats all sorts of conditions from acne through to arthritis. Nicky shares her local favourites with The Beast…

Favourite Beach: Coogee Beach during the autumn months and Caves Beach in Booderee National Park all year round.

Favourite Eatery: That would have to be Morning Glory at Coogee Beach. The eggs are poached perfectly and the mushrooms are plentiful.

Watering Hole: The Duke of Gloucester is only three doors away. Cold beer, great food and plenty of free parking makes for a nice evening.

Sporting Team: As the manager of the under 11s Dolphins netball team, who won their first game last week (go girls!), it’s got to be The Swifts.

Music: Cat Empire for putting a good spin on house work and Roisin Murphy for a bit of funk and groove.

Quote: “I am who I am and who I am is very good indeed.” – Dr Seuss (one of my favourite doctors).

Favourite Thing About Work: Seeing the joy and colour return to someone’s life as they resolve health problems; that’s the best.

Final Word: Tuesdays and Thursdays are drop-in clinic days, when you ask me “Which herb can I use for…?” and I’ll be able to give you an answer!
