Bondi performer Holly Summers shares her local favourites with The Beast…

Have you always lived locally?
Yep, I’ve always lived in the Eastern Suburbs. I started in Coogee and slowly made my way over to Bondi.

How long have you lived in Bondi?
I moved to Bondi Beach from Bondi Junction in 2009. Then I spent most of 2011 in Europe and came straight back to Bondi at the start of this year.

What’s your favourite beach?
The BEST beach – Clovelly, of course! No sharks, no sand, just pretty fishies.

Where do you like to have a drink?
Cocktails at Mojos in Bondi are so, so, so good – the perfect warm-up to a night out – and the tapas is amazeballs!

Do you have a favourite sporting team?
I’m not really a sports person. The last sporting event I watched was my little sister’s under 10s Randwick Rugby Reds netball game.

What’s your favourite eatery?
There are so many. For breakfast I’d have to say Barzura in Coogee, lunch at SOY in Bondi and back to Coogee for dinner at La Spiaggia – the bolognese masters.

What music are you into at the moment?
I’m into a big mix of things. I really love Tim Minchin – he’s so funny and clever. I like listening to covers – Dirty Loops has done some really great ones. And a little bit of something old – Fleetwood Mac is always good.

Who is your favourite person?
I have lots of favourite people but I’d have to say Mum, Dad and my sisters are probably the top of my list.

What do you get up to on the weekends?
I like to take it easy; Sunday morning is normally dedicated to breakfast at Bazura with Dad. I try to get out and see some good live music. And if it’s sunny the coastal walk is always on the list.

Do you have a favourite quote?
“It’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” – Marilyn Monroe.

What do you do for work?
I’m a performer, mainly a singer/actress. I do some dancing too but I’m still working on that one.

What’s your favourite thing about work?
Well I suppose that it doesn’t really feel like work. I’m doing something that I would still do for free. I get to meet some pretty cool, creative and inspiring people too.
