Tell us about Anything To DVD in a paragraph…
We need to preserve our most precious and irreplaceable memories in a more permanent manner. We offer the service of converting old media (photos, home movies, etc.) into a new, more convenient and permanent format. Our specialty is to produce family history presentations on DVD for screening at a special event that can be watched over and over again by our clients.

How long have you had the shop?
Our first lease was for three years and twenty-three years later we are still here in the same spot doing what we do best.

What made you decide to open it?
We felt that the community needed a specialised service that would preserve their family’s precious movies, photographs, recordings, etc.

What were you doing before you decided to open the shop?
We commenced as a photographic studio and a video production facility, specialising in promotion, education and event coverage.

What would you do if you sold up?
If we had to close up, we would have a lot of equipment to sell on eBay!

What is the biggest challenge facing your shop?
Occasionally, trying to explain the ‘new’ technology to the older generation can be a challenge.

How did you come up with the name?
I think that Anything To DVD speaks for itself, and starts with the letter ‘A’. You can’t get better than that.

What’s the best thing about owning Anything To DVD?
The best aspect is to know that we are providing a service that the community obviously needs.

Does anything about Anything To DVD piss you off?
The fact that ‘Almost Anything To DVD’ didn’t fit on the signboard. Occasionally we are presented with media that will just not play on any machine.

What’s your medium- to long-term plan for the business?
We haven’t lost our enthusiasm to tackle all challenges that are presented, so as long as there is a demand, we’ll be here.
