Memoir Club Classic: Beth Spencer
This month’s Memoir Club Classic presents award-winning author Beth Spencer in conversation about Louisa May Alcott’s satirical essay ‘Transcendental Wild Oats’, about life in a Transcendentalist utopian community in New England in the 1840s, when Alcott was a child. This humorous and provocative memoir gives us a world far from the ‘shabby gentility’ of the Marches in Little Women and Good Wives, Alcott’s immensely popular and influential fiction. 6-9PM at the Randwick Literary Institute. All welcome! For more details, see website.
