Indigenous Screen Creators: What’s The Law?
The Arts Law Centre of Australia’s Artists in the Black program [AITB] aims at providing accessible legal services for Indigenous artists and arts organisations.
In partnership with Metro Screen and Screen Australia, AITB is pleased to present a workshop for Indigenous screen creators on Thursday 26th May 2011, from 6 to 9 pm, at Metro Screen.
The workshop will focus on the legal issues affecting screen creators and includes presentations on copyright law, contracts and chain of title, as well as ICIP issues, online distribution and broadcasters’ requirements.
Speakers include SBS Indigenous lawyer Adrian Craig and lawyer Stephen Boyle with Indigenous filmmaker Pauline Clague.
A panel discussion will follow the legal presentations. Participants are encouraged to send through any questions they would like addressed during the workshop by emailing artslaw@artslaw.com.au
