‘1790: A Tale Not Often Told’

‘1790: A Tale Not Often Told’ iis a mid-scale theatrical event about the early settlers of Australia. The play explores the unique and extraordinary relationship between Governor Arthur Philip and Bennelong of the Eora people, on this year, the bicentenary of Phillip’s death.The play explores the events which unfolded in 1790 specifically and brings to a contemporary audience a piece of our history which is not often shared. It looks at the ‘common unity’ Governer Phillip (played by Andrew Steele) and Bennelong (played by Lasarus Ratuere) recognised in one another.
