Music from the Eton Choirbook
Eton College MS. 178 (c.1500 – 1505)
Rich and rare: the music of the Eton Choirbook is as exquisite as the illuminated capitals that adorn its pages. Its music resonates with us today just as it did in the chapel of Eton College in Tudor England. Using only the naked beauty of the human voice, composers William Cornysh, Robert Fayrfax, Richard Davy, John Browne and Robert Wylkynson create new sound worlds that are seductive in their elegance and purity.
