Hannah: Hamlet in Western Sydney
An Australian bastardisation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
“To die, to sleep—to sleep, maybe to dream. But there’s the catch: in death’s sleep who knows what kind of dreams we might have, after we’ve put the noise and turbulence of life behind us.”
Young Hannah is visited by the ghost of her father who pleads with her to seek revenge on his murderer. A twisted tale of domestic violence, addiction and homophobia that ends in tragedy. We’ve taken the classic story of love and revenge and re-imagined it as a Western-Sydney family drama focused around a strong female hero. 5 SHOWS ONLY.
