Metro Screen’s Young Filmmakers Workshop

3-day intensive filmmaking workshop for 11-16 year olds
This workshop teaches the fundamentals of filmmaking, from script to screen. Participants will have the opportunity to write, act, shoot, light, direct, edit, add a soundtrack, and produce their own short film project.
Participants are divided into three groups and create:
• A Short Film
• Television Commercial
• Theatrical Trailer
• ‘Behind the Scenes’ Documentary
Day 1: Brainstorming ideas, scripting and basic camera operation.
Day 2: Storyboarding, green screen and interior/exterior shoot.
Day 3: Final Cut Pro editing.
Enrolment allows the students to join an established collective of over 300 young Sydney filmmakers and become part of the Young Filmmakers community, receiving regular updates and invites to screenings and special events. Films produced during the school holiday workshops have screened and been awarded at TropJr.
