Socially Structured Movement

Ben Rak’s latest exhibition ‘Socially Structured Movement’ will be opening Iain Dawson Gallery on December 8.

Ben uses the imagery of surf culture to deal with issues of belonging and the roll of media narratives in identity construction.

“We spend a lifetime building an identity, which we believe to be unique but in actuality is based on others’ stereotypical ideas about us. Eventually we all end up being clichéd stereotypes.”
