Tom Kearney: The Plastic Frontier,
Tom Kearney
‘The Plastic Frontier’
24 October – 4 November 2012
10am – 5pm Daily
The Bondi Pavilion Gallery
Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach
‘The Plastic Frontier’ is an artwork ‘installation’ that engages with notions of Australia’s ‘character’ and the mercurial nature of our cultural identity. The work celebrates the beach as our ‘spirit of place’ and explores its manifestation in popular culture and how this impacts on our nation’s psyche. Varying perspectives and social realities are considered through the symbolic representations contained within.
