Wolfgang Muthspiel Trio

Acclaimed by The New Yorker as “a shining light of the contemporary jazz-guitar generation,” Wolfgang Muthspiel has commanded worldwide attention for his daring musicality and dazzling technique.

He last wowed City Recital Hall audiences with his 2014 collaboration with Slava Grigoryan and Ralph Towner, and makes a welcome return this August with bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Brian Blade. Bringing together their diverse influences and sound aesthetics these three masters of improvisation will showcase their open approach to music-making and deep focus on the song and the moment.
