BOTANICAL ART CLASS WITH BEVERLY ALLEN
Joseph Maiden Theatre, Tues 7 July–Fri 10 July, 9.30am–4pm
A four-day botanical painting workshop for artists with some experience. We will
explore the light and shade, tone and form necessary to create a three-dimensional
illusion on paper. We’ll analyse the layers of colour that are needed to depict a plant
realistically, and learn techniques of colour mixing and application of washes.
There will be an emphasis on the finer details that bring a painting to life.
