Echoes Of Enlightenment
In 2014 the Gyuto Monks of Tibet will celebrate 20 years of touring Australia to promote their values of kindness, compassion and love. The theme of this year’s tour is “Echoes of Enlightenment” and is led by Gyuto elder, 76 year-old Gen Lama Thupten Phuntsok – one of the very few survivors of the 1959 invasion of Tibet who escaped to India with the Dalai Lama. They are involved in a comprehensive 13-day event program including daily meditation sessions, Buddhist talks and ceremonies, a 2 metre sand mandala creation and ‘Culture for Kids’ activities.
