January Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down

Up – 2014 – It’s hard not to get excited about the prospect of a brand new year ahead. Fingers crossed it’s a good one!

Down – Skin Cancer – Now is the best time of year to get the worst kind of illness. Please be sun safe this summer,

Up – Wide-brimmed Hats – When it comes to avoiding the illness mentioned above, a good hat is a trusty weapon in your arsenal.

Down – Baby Spew – When you become a parent, everything you own will soon take on the unpleasant odour of baby spew.

Up – Test Driving – There is something fun about fanging around in fancy cars pretending that you may legitimately make a purchase.

Down – Jellyfish Season – Getting stung in the eye socket by a purple jelly is not a pleasant way to finish an otherwise enjoyable surf.

Up – Stump Microphones – As if the Ashes hasn’t already been enjoyable enough for the cricket, we also get to hear some great banter.

Down – Shark Attacks – This is a no-brainer really. Nothing good ever comes of shark attacks, just severed limbs and hysterical media.

Up – Hotel Buffet Breakfasts – You can’t beat a big buffet breakfast at one of the big hotels in the city. A great way to start a weekend.

Down – Summer Parking – Ride a bike, fire up the scooter, take a bus or just walk to the beach. Finding a park is a massive punish.
