METRO SCREEN: THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

The First Assistant Director (AD) is the Director’s right hand person, taking responsibility for a large number of important practicalities and logistics so that the Director is free to concentrate on the creative process. The First AD makes sure the film, television show or creative project is completed on time and on budget.
We will teach you all about the role of the 1st, 2nd and 3ra ADs including:
• Determining shot list and order
• Understanding budget constraints & cast scheduling
• The location recce
• Pre-shoot logistics, and Health and Safety planning
• Call sheets, reports
