When I think of Madagascar I think of lemurs, chameleons, vanilla and animated films. One thing that doesn’t generally come to mind is skateboarding. So when I stumbled across this skate vid shot in Madagascar I just had to click play.

Filmmaker Patrik Wallner is the man responsible for this 15-minute piece, which Red Bull funded after Wallner was awarded ‘best film-maker of 2014’ by the European skateboard community.

“Along with a trophy, Red Bull pretty much told me I can choose any place on Earth and film a short piece,” Wallner said.

“I scrambled through a world atlas and thought that Madagascar would be the ideal place to celebrate this award as well as explore the streets of this exotic island along the Indian Ocean with some good friends.”

The result is a stunning little documentary slash skate flick that you should all make time to watch.

Madagascar is definitely on my bucket list, but I don’t think I’ll be packing my skateboard. I’ll stick with searching for lemurs and chameleons…
