Video of the Week – Targeting Cancer

A good friend of mine is a radiation oncologist. She’s a shit-load smarter than me and she’s incredibly passionate about what she does. Heck, she pretty much saves lives on a daily basis.

Anyway, said friend called me recently about a new campaign being launched with regard to radiation oncology. The key campaign message is that radiation therapy is a highly effective treatment option that would benefit 1 in 2 cancer patients (yet nowhere near this number actually get access to it).

Without going too deep into the issue, ‘big pharma’ are heavily invested in the whole chemo side of cancer treatment and this isn’t always the best course of action. Radiation therapy is often overlooked, despite how effective it is these days and how far it has come, particularly over the last decade.

So today’s Video of the Week is Targeting Cancer’s latest community service announcement. I hope it resonates with you as it did with me.
