Within – Exhibition

‘WITHIN’ is an exhibition of works by two Southern Highlands artists, Tracey Mitchell and Julie Pennington who both work in porcelain. While the porcelain gives a sense of fragility to the work, it also has a feeling of textiles design and weaving which has been an influence on both artists. Tracey’s gathered ribbons of porcelain create organic forms that hint at vessel like shapes but only hold shadows and light. Julie’s labyrinthine forms are evocative of woven nets, lace and basketry.
