Yael Barkhan has lived in Double Bay for three years after moving here from Johannesburg, South Africa. Yael works as an event planner and party stylist for any type and size of event. “I am a compulsive creative always dreaming up the next fab party!” she told The Beast. “I am happiest transforming spaces and places with my unique floral touches and tablescapes.” Yael shares her local faves with The Beast…

Favourite Beach: I love the outlook and feel of Camp Cove and the fact that it’s nestled into a private bay and you could be anywhere in the world.

Eatery: Tropicana in Darlinghurst for yummy salads, a casual atmosphere and good menu selection for my boys.

Watering Hole: The Sheaf is my local.

Sporting Team: I live with four boys in a house divided between the Wallabies and Springboks. All I know is it gets noisy around Rugby World Cup time!

Music: I am an R&B girl through and through, with a dash of hip hop and soul.

Weekend Activity: Styling parties and functions, fishing with my boys, going on long drives and discovering new places.

Favourite Thing About Your Work: I love spending time sourcing all the elements that will bring my vision to life. What brings me the greatest pleasure is seeing my clients’ reaction when they arrive at their functions.
