Tell us about Skin Clinic@Blyss?
We are a boutique clinic that specialises in all non-surgical skin treatments, as well as having a doctor for our injectable treatments. We have recently had a major renovation and name change to properly reflect the type of treatments that we do. Skin Clinic@Blyss is all about keeping the skin fresh, bright and luminous. We offer a wide range of treatments suitable for all skins and budgets. All of our staff are continuously trained and passionate about skin health.
How long have you had the shop?
Fifteen years now. Ten years ago we moved to the current location from our old premises near the Cloey.
What made you decide to open it?
A true love of the industry, and I’m too bossy to work for anyone else!
What were you doing before you decided to open the shop?
I worked in Darlinghurst and Coogee for a few years in the industry but wanted to focus on skin treatments, so I opened Skin Clinic@Blyss.
What would you do if you sold up?
Sleep in, enjoy the sunshine and learn a language.
What is the biggest challenge facing your shop?
Internet purchasing and incorrect information. No two skins are alike so what works for one person won’t necessarily work for another. When purchasing online you risk getting dodgy product and the incorrect product for your skin.
How did you come up with the name?
My great team at Blyss came up with the name. They wanted it to reflect the type of treatments we do.
What’s the best thing about owning Skin Clinic@Blyss?
Helping clients to achieve their goals, whether it be anti-ageing, acne problems or skin maintenance. Also, the community feel of Clovelly. We love that clients will often drop in for a chat and we often bump into them on our days off. I’ve watched our clients’ children grow up, and some of them are now clients as well!
Does anything about Blyss piss you off?
The couriers that slam the door and want to use our bathroom.
What’s your medium- to long- term plan for the business?
As the industry continues to evolve, to keep educating ourselves with the latest advances in the industry and ensuring that all of our clients have this information.
