Crew for Life

By Eastside Crew on March 10, 2011 in Sport

Have you ever thought about entering a fun run but didn’t think you would be able to make the distance? Have you entered but failed to show up on the day because you got bored training by yourself? Do you want to not only compete but also be high-fiving your running buddies and generally loving life as you cross the finish line?

Cool, because we have taken care of the high fives, the awesomeness, the running buddies and we have also arranged for a couple of sneaky post-race vinos for you, just so you can debrief on how well you ran.

We love running events. Everyone’s super pumped and happy to be competing. You get to carbo load the night/week/month before and you even get a medal at the end to remind you of your achievement. Where else can you win a medal these days?
We want you to be able to share that awesome feeling with us. That’s why we’ve started Crew for Life.

What is Crew for Life?

The guys and girls from East Side Crew and the Oncology Children’s Foundation have teamed up to form Crew for Life, which is an exciting new community of wannabe, has-been and never-were athletes who want to get fit, be able to share the experience with others, and get some good karma in return by helping to beat childhood cancer.

Crew for Life is all about you: your personal achievements and goals, making new friends, being part of the local community and helping a great cause!

How does Crew for Life work?

East Side Crew will provide Crew for Life team members with free Saturday morning running sessions in the nine weeks leading up to your chosen event. It doesn’t matter if you’re a complete novice or a fun run junkie, the Crew Saturday sessions will cater to all fitness levels.

In addition to the new and improved you that will result, you will also be part of the Crew for Life team helping to raise money for the Oncology Children’s Foundation (OCF). OCF is an Australian charity dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancers with the lowest survival rates.

At the end of the nine weeks, you will have met some fantastic new people from your local area, improved your fitness and energy levels, achieved your goals and raised money for cancer research. Who could ask for more?

How do you get involved in Crew for Life?
