Video Of The Week – Drunken Monkeys
They say that humans evolved from the apes and it seems that our of similarities to simians extend far more than one might care to imagine.
The similarities go so far in fact that our drinking habits are mirrored in monkey populations in the Caribbean.
Yes, Velvet Monkeys don’t mind the occasional tipple. In fact, many of them like to get completely maggot.
What’s most interesting though is that within Velvet Monkey populations, there are also examples of teetotalism. Further still, the percentages of the monkey population that drink to excess, drink in moderation, or choose not to drink at all are very similar to those in the human population.
What is this mean? I guess we’re all just a bunch of drunken monkeys!
