Video of the Week – Sardine Barrel
Sardine Moment at Rip Curl Pro Peniche 2012 from BlackInk on Vimeo.
Most surfing fans would know by now that the ridiculously good-looking but seemingly personality-starved Aussie Julian Wilson took out the Rip Curl Pro Portugal on Saturday morning our time.
It was his maiden World Tour victory and while the result in the final was somewhat controversial (he beat Gabriel Medina with the last wave of the event with a slightly dubious eight and a half point ride), there is no doubting the amazing ability of the kid from Coolum.
If in doubt, watch his semi-final performance on Heats On Demand and you’ll see what we mean.
Despite all the applause being thrown the way of young J-Dub, it was another moment featuring Damo Hobgood that caught the attention of The Beast and has been bestowed the honour of Video of the Week.
We’ve never seen anyone catch get barreled by a school of fish before so this could well be a world first.
Click play and wait about 45 seconds to see what we’re talking about – amazing!
