Video of The Week – Wavegarden 2.0
Wavegarden 2.0 – June 2013 from wavegarden on Vimeo.
You know those days when the surf is flat, or when it’s gusting onshore, or when it’s so big that bugger all banks in the Eastern Suburbs can handle it (not that you’d actually have the balls to go out anyway)?
Well, over in the Basque region they’re working on a solution. It’s called Wavegarden and they’re gradually refining into what now looks like a really fun little wave (or two waves as it is now, a right and a left). It runs for 220m, making it the longest man-made wave in the world.
A bunch of pros joined a of kids to test it out. Hit play and check out the future of surfing (in more ways than one!).
