Lovers of comedy will have the opportunity to come together and show their support for victims of the Queensland floods at a special fundraiser to be held on Wednesday, February 2 at the Coogee Bay Hotel on Coogee Bay Road, Coogee.

The ‘Comedy for Queensland – Laugh Till It Doesn’t Hurt’ comedy night will take place at the hotel from 8pm and will feature many of Australia’s best live stand-up comedians, including Nova 96.9 front man, Tim Rosso, Chris Wainhouse and International superstar of comedy Arj Barker.

A concept created by local comedian Steve Philp and the help of Comedy producers Left of Centertainment. The Coogee Bay Hotel aims to raise more than $20K on the night, as well as additional donations pooled from its suppliers’ donations and other fundraising initiatives created by the hotel throughout January and February.

General Manager of Coogee Bay Hotel, Mr Tony Williams “While the main focus of our fundraisers is the local community, the size of the flood disaster means we need to help our neighbours north of the border in Queensland.

“I urge everyone to get on down to the hotel, have a laugh over a beer and get behind this worthwhile cause so we can do our bit to help those whose lives have been damaged by the devastating floods,” he added.

‘Laugh Till It Doesn’t Hurt’ is a part of the Coogee Bay Hotel’s commitment to the advancement of the local community. The hotel each year makes available significant sponsorship funds to assist community groups and sporting organisations.
