The Greatest Gift This Christmas

By Dan Hutton on November 28, 2012 in News

Have your spoilt little brats been whingeing and moaning about wanting the latest must-have toy for Christmas? Do they never seem quite grateful enough for the blessed life that you have afforded them? Do you live in the Eastern Suburbs and have more money than you know what to do with and have resorted to buying things that you don’t really need like that ridiculously big television, the latest iPad and the Porche Cayenne Turbo you’ve got parked in your multi-car lock-up garage? Want to do something that will make you feel better about yourself that doesn’t involve botox, silicone or college?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, get down to Kmart (or Kidostore if you must) and put some of your hard-earned cash towards a Christmas present for a child who be spending the holiday season in hospital.

This year, Christmas Presents for Sick Kids will once again be aiming to amass well over one thousand presents to donate to the children at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and Westmead Children’s Hospital.

All you have to do is purchase a present or twenty (it’s amazing what $50-$100 will get you at Kmart) and get them up to the Charing Cross Hotel on Sunday, December 16 from 2pm. There’ll be plenty of fun activities on the day including face painting from 2-5pm and a visit from Santa at 4pm, plus there’ll be a free barbecue and musical entertainment from Nick Andrews & Friends.

Wrapping equipment will also be supplied at the Charing Cross Hotel if you don’t get around to it beforehand. If you do, be sure to write the age and gender that your present would be best suited to.

Christmas Presents For Sick Kids is held each year in loving memory of John Anders Ward.
