The Bubbles for Babies Charity Ball is an annual event organised to help raise funds for the Newborn Care Centre at Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick. Each and every year it is a challenge for the centre to get the equipment it so desperately needs to save premature and sick babies’ lives throughout New South Wales. While many people are under the impression that the funding for the Sydney Children’s Hospital covers the Newborn Care Centre, sadly this is not the case.

Local parents Dave Martin and Rikki-Lee Calleja nearly lost their young son Henry earlier this year when he was born just over ten weeks premature. Without the Newborn Care Centre and the nurses who cared for him, Henry would not be alive today. Needless to say this charity a worthy cause and something we should all jump on board for.

Organised by the nurses from the Newborn Care Centre, the Bubbles for Babies Charity Ball will be a fabulous night of fine dining, beautiful wines, entertainment and fundraising with a live and silent auction. The event will be held at The Sheraton on the Park in the city from 6.30pm on Friday, August 31. Tickets will be just $160 per head and there will be ten seats per table for those who want to get a group of friends or work colleagues together to support this great cause.

This year the organisers are aiming to purchase another Giraffe Omnibed for the centre, which is high care incubator crib with a lift top that enables doctors and nurses to perform procedures or operate without moving the baby from the incubator.

If the ball is not for you, pledging a donation to this cause will still go a long way. To do so, and to purchase tickets for the Bubbles for Babies Charity Ball, please jump on to www.bubblesforbabies.org.
