Up – Beard Season – Grow a beard from June 1 to August 31 and help raise awareness about melanoma prevention.

Down – The Sniffles – Not bad enough to warrant a day off work, the runny nose and congested head symptoms are still a punish.

Up – Slow Winter Living – Everything slows down to a more manageable pace during winter in the east and we absolutely love it.

Down – The Last Toilet Roll – There’s nothing worse than realising you’ve just used the last sheet of the last roll and you’re still not finished.

Up – Whales Tails – Not the trashy g-string halfway up the back look but the actual tails of actual whales. Keep your eyes peeled people!

Down – Drink Prices – Is it possible to a reasonably priced alcoholic beverage at any Sydney establishment these days?

Up – Layering – Fashion types will agree with us when we say that the ability to layer one’s garments is winter’s biggest bonus.

Down – Footy Overload – The weekends disappear pretty quickly when you’re trying to keep up with the league, union and AFL.

Up – Tumble Dryers – Despite the fact they shrink most of your clothes, tumble dryers still stand as one of man’s greatest inventions.

Down – Wind Burn – When the sun is not out scorching your skin the blustering southerlies are having a similar unpleasant effect.
