Is your wardrobe ready for 2015?

Is your wardrobe ready for 2015? If you have a little spare after-Christmas cash and want to update your look for summer, try incorporating some of these pieces into your wardrobe:

Matching crop top and skirt. Crop tops have been here for a while, but embrace a new way to wear them – with a matching skirt. The recent ARIAs were a case in point with almost everyone, including Katy Perry, turning up in this matching ensemble.

A sophisticated jumpsuit. Take this playground inspired piece into the evening by choosing a dark colour in a luxurious fabric like silk or satin, and pair with a simple, strappy heel.

New festival girl. If you’re festival bound this summer it could be time to give your cut-off denim shorts a rest. Opt instead for floaty bohemian dresses in printed chiffon, ‘stolen from my boyfriend’s band’ jackets, lacy baby-doll dresses and long flowing vests that practically guarantee you backstage access.

Fine gold jewellery. While oversized cocktail rings will always have a place, this season’s about delicate pieces. Layer fine bracelets or delicate gold necklaces of varying lengths and throw a few subtle gold rings on multiple fingers into the mix.

White lace. If you’re only going to buy one dress, make it a white one, or, better still, a white lace one. You’ll be wearing it all summer.

Fringes and tassles. This season embraces movement, from swinging fringes at hemlines to tassle embellishments on clothing, earrings and necklaces.

Backpacks. Celebrate their return as mini backpacks are comfortable, fit more than a clutch and leave your hands free to hit the dance floor. Look for camo or floral versions by day and white fine grain leather by night.

The mega maxi dress. While mega maxis with voluminous fabric may not accentuate curves, they do give off a carefree hippie-chic vibe perfect for a hot summer’s day, and when the day’s through you’ll find nothing better for curling up in on the couch.
