North Bondi resident Allan Grigg owns and operates Racecourse Motors on Alison Road, Randwick. Allan shares his local favourites with The Beast…

How long have you lived here?
I’ve lived in Bondi for twenty years and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Bondi will always be my home; I love the people, the atmosphere and the lifestyle.

What’s your favourite beach?
Bondi Beach without a doubt, as you can see from my answer above. I also enjoy the occasional surf in the Tamarama washing machine.

What’s your favourite eatery?
There are many great places to eat around here, but Hurricanes takes the cake by a mile; from the smell of those steaks cooking while you’re walking down the promenade, to their excellent new delivery service (on our Aprilia scooters, of course!).

Where do you like to have a drink?
I love having a cold one in the evening in my backyard with the family and friends – it’s the best place to have a drink.

Do you have a favourite sporting team?
The Roosters. I think Sonny Bill should be Prime Minister.

What music are you into at the moment?
I’ve always been into the 90s stuff; there are just no artists now like there was back then – Michael Jackson, Madonna, Phil Collins, etc. I also love RnB and a bit of rap, like Snoop, Dr Dre, 2Pac and Ice Cube.

Who is your favourite person?
My grandmother (Baba); she brought me up as a kid and kept me in check my whole life, which wasn’t an easy job!

What do you get up to on the weekends?
Weekends are a one-day event for me. Saturday is our busiest day so I spend it at the shop. Sundays start with a morning run and swim, followed by breakfast at Skinny Dip. I’ll usually spend the rest of the day hanging out with mates.

What do you do for work?
I own and operate Racecourse Motors on Alison Road, Randwick – Sydney’s best scooter and motorcycle dealership. We are the leading agents for Aprilia motorcycles and scooters, and also Moto Guzzi, Italy’s oldest motorcycle brand.

What’s your favourite thing about work?
I love coming to work every day and watching my dream becoming a reality. You’ve got to love the hustle; it keeps you sane.

Do you like to dance when you’re drunk?
Yes, I love to break out the boogie. I’m also told that I’m great at the MJ dance, but I never remember this!
