Clovelly resident and owner of Studio 44 Personal Training Lisa Reid-Summers shares her local favourites with The Beast…

How long have you lived here?
I moved here twenty years ago from the Blue Mountains and managed Barzura Cafe at Coogee before settling in Clovelly. For the past seven years I have enjoyed living here and working in my own business.

What is your favourite beach?
I love snorkelling at Clovelly and Bronte Bogey Hole is a favourite. I also like Nielsen Park for a picnic and a dip.

What is your favourite eatery?
I eat at home a lot; my partner is a fantastic cook. I’m also loving Burnie’s at Clovelly for breakfast. Their grilled asparagus with poached eggs and almond crunch is delicious!

Where do you like to have a drink?
I’m a coffee lover from way back and frequent Burnie’s and Deviate in Clovelly. The occasional glass of vino will be at SumBar, Deviate or the Cloey.

Do you have a favourite sporting team?
The Australian women’s cricket and soccer teams are amazing athletes and inspiring women, and I’m a big fan of watching the tennis players Samantha Stosur and Roger Federer.

What music are you into at the moment?
I like Pink, Missy Higgins and the Black Keys, and I play a little classical piano for a great wind down. My son is really into music at the moment so we have had Psy and lots of pop playing very loudly!

Who is your favourite person?
My son and partner are amazing and life with them is fun and full of adventure.

What do you get up to on the weekends?
My weekends are spent with my family, swimming, picnicking, bike riding, kayaking, bushwalking and eating lots of delicious food. Bushwalking in the Blue Mountains is a particular favourite.

What do you do for work?
I own and operate a boutique personal training studio on Burnie Street, Clovelly and train with people from 8-80 years old. With their many varied needs, sessions can include injury-prevention and rehabilitation, weight loss, stress management and general fitness.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?
Continually improving my knowledge and skills to create interesting, effective and well- balanced exercise programs. I am fortunate to work with many wonderful clients who work hard to achieve their goals. We have lots of fun too.

Do you have a favourite quote?
“You only live once but if you do it right, once is enough” – Mae West.
