Jack Johnson Yohonsen, keeper of ‘the cubes’ and probably the biggest name in Sydney right now, shares his local favourites with The Beast…

Have you always lived locally?
Yeah, I’ve always lived here, pretty much. I moved to Bronte when I was two.

So how long have you lived in Bronte?
Fifteen years now and I really couldn’t have asked to live anywhere else in the world; it’s the best. Right on the coast, away from some of the crowds and it’s close to everything I need to go to, so it’s dewzie.

What’s your favourite beach?
Only the best beach in the world mate, Bronte – 2012 state surfing champs!

What’s your favourite eatery?
At the moment it would have to be the Garden Cafe in Charing Cross. They make mad chicken schnitzel sandwiches and don’t charge a million dollars for a feed, unlike a lot of the places around here at the moment.

Where do you like to have a drink?
I like to go to the local protein store and smash creatine shakes all day.

Do you have a favourite sporting team?
The chookies. I used to go for the doggies when I was real young but then I finally woke up to myself and started going for the chickens.

What music are you into at the moment?
Everything, pretty much. A bit of rap, like some Eminem or old school rap, some Kid Mac, any donker beat that is good to hack up to and some relaxing stuff like Red Hot Chili Peppers or something.

Who is your favourite person?
I don’t know; I have a few. Probably, of course my mum and my dad but besides them I would have to say Paul Gallen because he’s the biggest machine ever and Ronnie Coleman because he’s a weapon.

What do you get up to on the weekends?
I play footy nearly every weekend then go and get pitted on the ‘roast beef’ if it’s good surf (well, I try to) and then probably relax or do some training.

Do you have a favourite quote?
“Radley reckons he can surf… but he can’t.” – Jack Johnson Yohonsen

What do you do for work?
I’m still at school, just going through the motions. If anyone needs a form worker I know a really good bloke who has had years of experience. His name is Cam Ryan; just feel free to give him a call.

Any other words of wisdom for readers of The Beast?
If anyone needs a plumbing apprentice for next year, pick me!
