Local Favourites – Kylie

Kylie Cruickshank has lived in Bondi Beach for a little over three years after growing up in Terrigal. She is a hairdresser and owns her own salon at North Bondi called Judena Taylor. Kylie shares her local favourites with The Beast…

Favourite Beach: I’m no good with the waves. If I get the chance to chill out I love to enjoy an afternoon down at Shark Beach watching the sun set over the city.

Eatery: My two favorite foods are Mexican and Japanese, so I’m lucky to have both places right around the corner from me. I duck across to Beach Burrito for a quick chilli bowl for lunch and I love the food, atmosphere and sake at Mamasan.

Watering Hole: If someone knows where to get a good martini, please drop me a line. Otherwise I can’t go past Klee’s soy caps at the Swiss Grand Hotel.

Sporting Team: Is Dein Perry’s Tap Dogs classified as a sporting team?

Music: Don’t tell anyone but I have some French music and Julio Iglesias, which I pump out in the salon and pretend I’m cruising the Riviera while I enjoy the ocean views.

Person: My man Josh.

Weekend Activity: Walking with my chihuahua.

Quote: “How old you are is your business… how good you look is our business!”

Favourite Thing About Work: I love our new location overlooking the beach and I love our products. Our ammonia-free colour and organic range of shampoo and conditioner mean now you don’t have to sacrifice quality for results.

Final Word
: I really love the small village feel and community culture that exists around parts of Bondi. Everyone needs to get out there and support the small businesses in their local area. You will be surprised at what you find.
