Simon Kanoon grew up out west before spending his teenage years and a good portion of his adult years living in Randwick and Coogee. Now that he has his own family he lives out west on a few acres. Simon runs his own little eatery at Ben Buckler shops called OLIES Grilled Chicken and it is awesome! Simon shares his local favourites with The Beast…

Favourite Beach: Definitely the northern part of Bondi. I have always been accustomed to hanging out there as my business is located on the north side.

Eatery: I enjoy a fair bit of spice in my food so the wife and I like Abhis Indian in Concord – I highly recommend it.

Watering Hole: I don’t go out and drink much these days, although the boys and I used to get together at the Bondi Hotel often enough.

Sporting Team: I grew up playing soccer and am a firm supporter of Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL.

Music: Music runs in my family. My dad, brother, uncles and grandfather were all musicians. As for me personally, I enjoy spinning the records and I love all music.

Weekend Activity: Mowing the bloody lawn – not fun, although, as they say, it has to be done. I used to enjoy a weekend soccer match or tennis but not as much nowadays.

Quote: “Where there is no leadership the people fall, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” (Proverbs 11:14) eg. Julia Gillard…

Favourite Thing About Your Work: Meeting new people and establishing and building relationships with the many friendly locals.

Final Word: Love your neighbour as you do yourself and treat one another with respect. I could think of a million more things to say here though!
