Local Favourites – Vanessa Kidwell

By Dan Hutton on March 30, 2011 in People

Vanessa Kidwell has lived in Coogee on and off for ten years due to her husband’s professional football career. She moved here from earthquake stricken Christchurch, New Zealand, where all her family still lives. Vanessa owns a homewares and lifestyle store called LivedIn Coogee on Arden Street. Vanessa shares her local favourites with The Beast…

Favourite Beach: Definitely the north end of Maroubra. And the kids love a day at Yarra Bay, which is also good for a swim and a drink on Sunday arvos.

Eatery: I love the nachos at the Clovelly Hotel (I’m a simple girl at heart – no frills).

Watering Hole: These days it is Ryan (Beast) Mears (owner of RJ’s Carpets, who service the Eastern Suburbs) and Belinda Carrol’s backyard – always lots of fun.

Sporting Team: Rugby league has always been the game that dominates our house and this year the team is the Storm, where the hubby is currently assistant coach.

Music: Anything from Chillout Sessions to R&B. We love to get our funk on in the Kidwell house.

Weekend Activity: Enjoying time with my two beautiful girls Aaliyah and Zali and/or jaunting down to Melbourne.

Quote: “Live, Laugh, Love”.

Favourite Thing About Your Work: Being able to provide my customers with unique and interesting finds for their home along with meeting all the wonderful locals who shop with me.

Final Word: Come and let me help you discover the things that inspire you to create a home you love at LivedIn Coogee, 263 Arden Street, Coogee.
