Luke Brings It Home – Fashionably

By Dan Hutton on March 22, 2012 in People

Luke Watson is one of those people who always has another great idea up his sleeve and enjoys building something from scratch – yes, Luke Watson is truly an Aussie entrepreneur who is keeping the Aussie dream alive!

In 2000, he was part of the early team at BlueSkyFrog, the first major Australian success story in premium mobile content. Over the next few years, Luke developed various web applications before joining the founding team of Bluepulse, one of the first mobile social networks in the world. The business eventually caught the eye of overseas investors and in 2006 he relocated to the Mecca of high-tech innovation and development, Silicon Valley in the United States.
Luke returned to Sydney in 2010, with 11 years of experience developing and managing technology-based businesses under his belt. Initially joining the team of Australian start-up incubator Pollenizer, Luke helped other entrepreneurs build their business.

But, as a style-conscious consumer, and having participated in the online shopping boom in the United States, Luke quickly discovered there was a huge gap in the Australian market for an online club that is truly focused on premium brands and high-quality products. With this in mind, he set out to build DashLuxe.

Within 12 hours, a prototype was complete and with a single sign-up page announcing the company’s arrival, soon over 1,000 Australians had requested their memberships.

Since late 2010, thousands of discerning Australians have joined DashLuxe and have experienced all the benefits of this new concept – the most important being having access to current season looks from local and international designers such as Hugo Boss, Ksubi, Triwa, Cartier, Sara Phillips, Shakuhachi and Fred Perry, at insider prices. And we are talking up to 70% off retail prices and on current collections. Unbelievable? You better believe it!
