Mighty Mite Surf’s The Dream

South Coogee’s Julian Michailidis, 10, was living the dream on the Gold Coast on the weekend after being one of eight Vegemite Surfgroms to win a VIP pass to the prestigious Quiksilver Pro.

Julian and his fellow mighty mites, won the prize after being selected from the 5000 kids who joined the Surfgroms program last October.

The prize included a flight for one child and one adult to Coolangatta Airport, one night’s accommodation, a Quiksilver merchandise package and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the event and the opportunity to meet and surf with legends such as Kelly Slater.

The kids also had a once-in-a-lifetime surf session with former world champions Mark Richards and Tom Carroll, recently crowned Australian Open of Surfing champion Matt Banting and former world tour competitor Matt Hoy.
Definitely an experience Julian will never forget.
