Video of the Week – Galapagos Islands Montage

Galapagos Islands Montage from Luke van der Rijt on Vimeo.

I get so jealous when my mates go on amazing holidays. You see their photos on Facebook and hear their stories upon their return and you wish it was you that was over there rather than being stuck here in Sydney.

My mate Vanders (the head pharmacist at Bronte Pharmacy on Macpherson Street) decided to take it one step further and put together a video montage of his ‘trip of a lifetime’ to the Galapagos Islands. The prick.

Worse still, Vanders seems to go on a ‘trip of lifetime’ a couple of times a year. He’s obviously getting paid far too well.

Anyway, I figured why feel miserable on my own, so i’m sharing his video with you. It’s bloody well put together and i’ll be surprised if you don’t all want to book trips over there after watching it. I’m going to book it in right now!

  1. Just arrived back in Melbourne after 4.1/2 weeks in South America. My first week was spent in Ecuador, on the Galápagos Islands. The islands are THE most incredible place for seeing wildlife…the variety, the sheer numbers and the fact that the animals are not scared of humans. I would return in a heartbeat, but for the fact it is so expensive to travel around the islands, after the flight (1000km west, off the mainland of Ecuador), and the airfare from Australia to Santiago, then north to Quito, Ecuador. Still worth it for a once in a lifetime experience.
Loved Vander’s montage video… much of it is familiar now. Thanks Dan for allowing so many people to share in the wonders that the Galapagos Islands holds.
