August Thumbs

Up – Fiji – It ain’t as cheap as Indo, but tropical paradise, awesome people and amazing waves are just a four-hour flight away.

Down – Paparazzi – To the Derek from the Daily Mail who did his best to ruin our Beast cover shoot: I hope you get punched in the face.

Up – City2Surf – Not only is the fourteen-kilometre slog a great opportunity to stretch the legs, it’s also the unofficial end of winter.

Down – Runny Nose Rash – Even the Kleenex with built-in aloe vera feel like sandpaper after a month-long cold.

Up – One In A Row – NSW are State of Origin champions. The last eight years are but a distant memory. Hoorah!

Down – The Four Year Wait – World Cups are way too far apart. What the hell are we expected to do to achieve sleep deprivation now?

Up – Daniels Surfboards – Local shaper Luke Daniels is pumping out some beautiful boards from his Bronte lair and one them has my name on it.

Down – The Lifeguard Situation – How many people have to die before Council puts lifeguards on at Bronte and Tama during winter?

Up – Swimming Lessons – The most enjoyable way to spend quality time with your children, and it could even stop them drowning. Bonus.

Down – Unnecessary Roundabouts – I’m not sure who decides where the new roundabouts go in but I want a big bag of whatever they’re smoking.
