Local Favourites – Bill Hill

By Dan Hutton on March 23, 2011 in People

Bronte resident Bill Hill grew up in Bondi and moved to Bronte fifteen years ago when he saw the writing on the wall! Bill owns Bronte Board Repairs, fixing the dings of local surfers so they can get back out in the water. He reckons he’s repaired thousands in his lifetime! Bill shares his local favourites with The Beast…

Favourite Beach: Bondi. I grew up there and I still love surfing there. I spent the first twenty years of my surfing life at Bondi and when I get peace and quiet down there I really like it.

Watering hole: My garage these days. I used to go to the Beach Road a bit back in the day.

Eatery: Jimbaran Balinese on Avoca Street, Randwick.

Sporting team: The Roosters, and I think they’ll go pretty good if they don’t have any more controversial hiccups this year.

Music: I like jazz – the new style, not the old style.

Weekend activity: Surfing of course! When I’m not fixing boards, that is.

Quote: “The guy with the most toys wins”.

Favourite thing about work: Meeting and talking to my customers makes the job worthwhile and more interesting, because surfers are the best people.

Favourite surfer: My wonderful son Locky!

Final word: If you ding your board, just give me a call on 0406 007 961 and I’ll have you back in the water before you know it!
