Local Favourites – Jennifer Miller

By Dan Hutton on April 1, 2011 in People

Jennifer Miller moved to Bondi from sunny Queensland five years ago and absolutely loves it here. She loves being able to start her day with a soft sand run and a dip in the ocean, followed by smashed eggs at Porch and Parlour. Jennifer runs a localised, community-focused group buying site in Bondi called Honey and Ginger, which is just about to launch. Jennifer shares her local favourites with The Beast…

Favourite eatery: Sydney Rocks at Icebergs or Catalina. And I get my coffee from the boys at Harry’s.

Book: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini.

Sport: It’s a tie between beach volleyball and soccer. By the way, the over 35s women’s soccer team I play for needs a few more team members if anyone’s keen? No skill required – just a sense of humour.

Weekend Activity: A lazy breakfast, reading the papers and Sunday afternoon vinos at the Sandpit.

Music: Pink – she has attitude, her style is energetic and fun and I really enjoy her music. ‘So What’ and ‘Dear Mr President’ are two of my favourites.

Favourite people: My husband and my daughter. They’re irreplaceable.

Quote: “Feel the fear and do it anyway” – Susan Jeffers.

Favourite Thing About Your Work: Meeting small business owners and learning about what they do and who they do it for. I love it. I always find their stories and how well they know their business and their market inspiring. Plus I get to work and live in Bondi.

Final word: If you are interested in experiencing the best your community has to offer at half price, check out my site at www.honeyandginger.com.au.
