Video of the Week – Bondi Hipsters

I found this little piece of gold doing the rounds on Facebook on the weekend. It comes courtesy of self-confessed uber squirrel Patrick Cahill (the bloke with the comb-over and dirty mo who works up at Surf Culture in the Junction).

Unless you have been living under a rock you would be well aware that Bondi and surrounds have become infested with hipsters (known locally as ‘squirells’) and a couple of blokes with a video camera and a reasonable sense of humour have taken the opportunity to take the piss through the medium of film.

You may have seen the two blokes in question before. The bearded squirrel, Christiaan Van Vuuren, gained Internet meme fame as the ‘Fully Sick Rapper’ when he was stuck in isolation in a Sydney hospital after contracting Tuberculosis, while the other bears an extraordinary resemblance to former YouTube sensation ‘Trent from Punchy’.

Anyway, this little web series in the making definitely has potential so take a look and keep an eye on Christiaan’s YouTube profile for future webisodes.
